I also love to try her recipes....which are always good! I have posted a couple of them like the "Apple fritters" and "Vanilla bean scones" on my bakery page. She posts pictures from their daily lives on a ranch so if you're that country type....head on over there! thepioneerwoman.com ~The Prairie Homestead~ I recently found this website and really enjoy reading her blog. It is so neat to see the different ways and places people live their lives. And she is a follower of Jesus Christ! www.theprairiehomestead.com ~The Westfall Website and blog~ Westfall horsemanship. I love how she posts pictures of the whole set up. Not just the cake. A fun website! pattycakesbakery.blogspot.com ~Taste Of Home~ Can't beat Taste of Home!! If I am looking for a recipe, I know I can go to Taste of Home and always find a good recipe. Really, I think there has been maybe one recipe, if that, that I got off there and it didn't turn out. Love Taste of Home! www.tasteofhome.com I found this website a little bit ago and I think it is so fun! If you have little girls, or any girls for that matter, you should check it out. So many fun hair styles and there are some really unique ones too! www.cutegirlshairstyles.com I hope you found one that you will enjoy!
What are some of your favorite websites? Feel free to post them in a comment! Here are the pictures of the most recent cake I made. For this cake I really had know idea what I wanted it to look like. I knew that I wanted to keep it really, really simple. Which in the end it was. It was a different looking cake as I did a dome on top. After I baked the cake I cut the little dome that was on top and used that for the dome part. Though, it was a little bumpy because the cake obviously doesn't bake in a perfect round dome. = ) I think it was fun but I still don't know if I liked it. The lighting in this picture makes the edging of the cake look like a weird color.... Sense we didn't know her name this blanket was perfect!
The cake itself was a white cake with a lemon curd filling. It was a great combination and the lemon curd was delicious! And everyone like it, which you're always happy to hear and is a confidence booster. Hope ya'll have a sweet day! Country Girl I love the way the horse is looking though the fence. It's right at her eye level. So cute!
Just letting you know I will be posting some new posts this week. Been kind'a busy.... Country Girl The other day I was out taking pictures and my younger sisters were out making a fort in the woods. I decided to snap a few pictures of them. It ended up being dinner time right as I got out there but I was able to get a few. I remember making forts in the woods when I was younger....I haven't made one in a while but it sure is fun! You can imagine a huge fortress or a humble cottage, a blackberry cave or even a skunk cabbage palace! So many ideas and they are all yours to bring alive! Balancing on a branch for a picture....sorry the lighting wasn't good. Then in for dinner! Keep marching! Chester saw us and was wondering what we had been doing in the woods. He's so cute!
So today bring your imagination to life! There is no telling what tomorrow may bring! ~Country Girl Isn't your brain amazing? God is amazing! And He made our brains to be able to understand His amazing World. You just have to open your eyes (Or have Christ open your eyes) to see all the wonderful blessings around you.
I think often times we take things for granted while not realizing it. Like rain, sun (those in California), food, clean water all the time, sturdy safe houses, cars, jobs, school or even friends. So today take an extra moment to thank the Lord God for every single blessing in your life. Some blessing may be in disguise.... Blessings to all, from your, Country Girl. The other day there were some really fun clouds so I took some pictures to share with you. You, could, say, they are the most recent valley pictures! This time though, you can see Chester down in the field. Summer is right around the corner!! I love my valley! So peaceful... So pretty... So green... God bless America! (I don't know why I said that...I just felt like that should be next.) Hmm...ya...that's my dirty beast.
The wet season is almost over and the dusty summer is on it's way. I love it so much more! But when Fall and Winter come you don't remember the last winter when you spent nine months cleaning off a wet, muddy, dirt dried horse. I guess those summer days wipe your memories of that away! I'm glad of that! Hope you guys are all having a pleasant Spring! ~Country Girl Remember the raw peanut buttercups I posted?? If not that's ok.... I have them on my Bakery page. I did a blog post on them when I first started blogging. And now I am re-posting them! BUT.....this time...I have step by step pictures on how to make them! An even better reason to try them out! They are really yummy and I think they are really worth the time and effort. I posted the "old post" below. Ingredients: 1/2 cup cocoa powder 3/4 cup coconut butter * 1/2 cup agave 1 tablespoon vanilla 1/2 teaspoon sea salt ** 5 tablespoon raw peanut butter Preparation: Blend all ingredients except the peanut butter in a food processor until smooth. Then put half of the batter into a 16 cup mini muffin tin that has been lightly greased with a little oil. Put in the freezer for two minutes. Then put about one tsp of peanut butter into each cup and then cover with the rest of the chocolate sauce. Freeze (about five minutes-but I keep them in all the time and just take them out when I want one) and enjoy. * I put 2/4 cup coconut butter/or oil and the other 1/4 peanut butter. ** You could put less. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Alright, here is the new post. I took step by step pictures so technically you don't even need to know how to read if you want to make these! Get your recipe.... To start off, you need to make sure you have mini baking liners. I love these things! Then fill twentie, mini cupcake tins, with the mini liners.... Start off my by getting a food processor or a Vita mix out. Then put your cocoa in..... The coconut oil (or butter) And then another 1/4 cup of coconut butter. Because silly me used a 1/4 cup instead of a 1/2 cup.... Next the peanut butter- I used Adams because there is no sugar added. These are sugar free too! Throw that in! And your sweetener! Can't forget the agave! Drizzle that in there too..... Vanilla! I love vanilla....you can add a splash of vanilla to anything and it will really enhance the flavor! One Tablespoon of that..... Salt! Look at the recipe for a note on the salt.... Mark 9:50 “Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other.” Throw that in there baby! Then blend it all up really well! Next, spoon about a teaspoon into the tins....don't poor it out of the mixer. I tried that and it made a mess....trust me...it all came out at once! Freeze them for a couple minutes... Then it's peanut butter time! I wanted to mentioned that I don't measure the peanut butter at this point. I just put a nice little dollop. It is really your preference. Another picture... Put another layer of chocolate on top, just enough to cover the peanut butter. You want to make sure you have enough chocolate to cover them all. Then off to the freezer again! When they are all frozen, (might take an hour or two, I don't really know) put them in a plastic container. Easy to store in and get them from! Yumzy! I don't think that's a word...oh well! Put I lid on it! And plop it in the freezer! Opps, this one didn't make! Poor guy...I guess I will have to eat it!
I really like these as you can keep them in the freezer and take them out whenever you want one! And the freezer is a good place to hide them too! = ) Plus they last longer in the freezer. Oh, and a side note,- you might want to let them thaw for a minute before you eat it as it will be pretty hard. But it thaws really fast! Enjoy! Have a fabulous day! ~Country Girl This is how I feel right now....Oh summer, please come! Rain, rain, go away! Come again another day! Even though I do love to sing in the rain! Just take off your hood, stick your face in the rain and sing praises to the Lord. Wonderful! We're singin in the rain, just singin in the rain!
Hopefully this won't be my life to much longer. I guess it's Spring rain, right? May a ray, of some sort of sunshine, pierce your day no matter where you are or what you're doing. ~ Country Girl I want to thank everyone that has served and are serving, in the Armed Forces. May we all be thankful for the ones who have given their lives and do each day to protect us and serve our country.
May God bless each and every one of you and your families. |
